Remember when Jonah Hill was just that husky kid in The 40-Year-Old Virgin trying to purchase some knee-high boots with goldfish in the heels at Catherine Keener’s eBay shop? He’s come a long way since that 2005 role and he’s now one of the most respected actors in Hollywood with multiple Golden Globes and Academy Awards nominations.

Who’s the real Jonah Hill? I mean, what’s he really like as a person now that all of his career dreams have come true and he can peel back the layers of Hollywood bullshit? This is a question he addresses As a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. Jonah said when he first moved to L.A. he was forced to put on a show for the town but for the past several years he’s finally been able to be himself. According to Jonah, being himself involves learning karate and fighting Joaquin Phoenix who takes that shit super seriously (Jonah’s a white belt) and covering his body in tattoos.

There are two clips below, the first one’s only about 90-seconds long and it’s the one where Jonah talks about learning Karate and how he wears his Gi (uniform) around town all day after practice because he wants to rep Karate. The second clip is where Jonah discusses his tats, and meeting Tony Romo at a restaurant:

Jonah Hill And Emma Stone Reunite For New Netflix Series ‘Maniac’– Watch The Weird First Trailer

Do you remember in Superbad when Jonah Hill’s character Seth and Emma Stone’s character Jules were teamed up in their home ec class and they tried to break the ice by trading awkward jokes about ejaculation before making tiramisu? Remember that? That was funny. Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are reunited in a new Netflix series and based on the teaser trailer it isn’t like Superbad at all. It’s called Maniac and it’s about big pharma and primary colors.

The first trailer for the upcoming Maniac miniseries shows Hill and Stone are alone in a room sitting at a table with odd matching outfits on possibly in a psychiatric hospital. The 10-episode series is based on a 2014 Norwegian satire series of the same name and it looks trippy. Here is the official synopsis from Netflix:

Set in a world somewhat like our world, in a time quite similar to our time, Maniac tells the stories of Annie Landsberg (Emma Stone) and Owen Milgrim (Jonah Hill), two strangers drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial, each for their own reasons. Annie’s disaffected and aimless, fixated on broken relationships with her mother and her sister; Owen, the fifth son of wealthy New York industrialists, has struggled his whole life with a disputed diagnosis of schizophrenia. Neither of their lives have turned out quite right, and the promise of a new, radical kind of pharmaceutical treatment—a sequence of pills its inventor, Dr. James K. Mantleray (Justin Theroux), claims can repair anything about the mind, be it mental illness or heartbreak—draws them and ten other strangers to the facilities of Neberdine Pharmaceutical and Biotech for a three-day drug trial that will, they’re assured, with no complications or side-effects whatsoever, solve all of their problems, permanently. Things do not go as planned.

Justin Theroux and Sally Field also star in Maniac, which is directed by Cary Fukunaga of Beasts of No Nation and True Detective fame. The first season of Maniac will be available on Friday, September 21. Let’s hope the show has more ejaculation jokes than the teaser trailer.

We are less than a week from the highly anticipated Netflix miniseries Maniac to debut and it is still mysterious AF. What we do know is that the miniseries will star Superbad co-stars Jonah Hill and Emma Stone, which is instantly an intriguing draw.

The sci-fi series based on a 2014 Norwegian satire series of the same name is directed by Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation and True Detective). We do know that the trippy 10-episode show has something to do with a pharmaceutical drug trial where Stone’s character “Annie” and Hill’s character “Owen” apparently meet.

The two characters appear to struggle with mental illness, but a new drug is supposed to cure them of their ills. The new teaser trailer shows the two strangers are said to have a “cosmic connection” and continually show up in drug-induced dreams of different worlds. After that things are a little hazy.

Here is the official synopsis of Maniac from Netflix:

Set in a world somewhat like our world, in a time quite similar to our time, Maniac tells the stories of Annie Landsberg (Emma Stone) and Owen Milgrim (Jonah Hill), two strangers drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial, each for their own reasons. Annie’s disaffected and aimless, fixated on broken relationships with her mother and her sister; Owen, the fifth son of wealthy New York industrialists, has struggled his whole life with a disputed diagnosis of schizophrenia. Things do not go as planned.

The new teaser trailer for Maniac gives us a little more details on the intriguing TV show.

Here is the first teaser trailer that arrived two months ago.

Justin Theroux and Sally Field also star in the miniseries. The first season of Maniac will be available on Friday, September 21.

Let’s hope that there is some sort of crossover from the Maniac universe to a Superbad mind-trip.

We Spoke With Jonah Hill And The Cast Of ‘Mid90s’ About Capturing The Spirit Of A Sacred Era

mid90s jonah hill interview

A24

In recent years, “the 90s” has become less of a decade and more of an idea— a supposedly carefree time children of the era can reminisce about whenever they want a temporary escape from the crushing reality of adulthood.

It’s easy to don your rose-colored glasses and look back fondly on the days where trapper keepers covered with rainbow unicorns were a status symbol, Beanie Babies were considered a solid investment, and Chumbawumba graced the radio waves.

However, it’s also easy to forget how things actually were.

The internet has created an endless appetite for nostalgia— a craving no number of quizzes or listicles is capable of satisfying.

Due to this hunger, the world has been subjected to countless reboots of movies and shows from the 90s attempting to turn a yearning for the past into cold, hard cash but few have managed to truly capture the feeling of the times.

However, thanks to Jonah Hill, we now have a very notable exception in the form of Mid90s.

If the 90s have a special place in your heart, there’s a very good chance Hill does as well thanks in no small part to Super Bad and the other movies the long-time member of Apatow Mafia was a part of.

Super Bad may be the definitive coming-of-age film of the 2010s and with Mid90s, the first-time writer and director has thrown his hat into the ring to vie for this decade’s title.

The film follows the trials and tribulations of a young teenager trying to fit in with the “cool kids,” which in this case is a group of cigarette-smoking, 40-chugging skateboarders with an undying love for profanity.

In previous interviews, Hill said the last thing he wanted to make was a movie that reeked with the stench of nostalgia and he managed to do so by capturing the spirit of 1995 while telling a story that could take place in any era.

I got the chance to briefly chat with Hill as well as a few members of the cast— including a conversation with Sunny Suljic and Na-Kel Smith, who are both poised to become breakout stars thanks to their respective performances in Mid90s.

Neither Smith nor Suljic grew up during the time the film takes place (the former was born in the mid-90s and the latter is 13 years old).

When I inquired how they were able to understand what the mid-90s were like without having experienced the period firsthand, I discovered one of the major educational tools was also one of the film’s most defining elements: the music.

Suljic said:

“Jonah gave us some iPods with all the music from the movie and songs that inspire scenes…

The only music [from the 90s] I was familiar with before I even got cast was Tupac. When I heard the music in the 90s and heard so many songs it just opened another world for me.”

Hill recently shared an eclectic mix of tracks he gave the cast, which I recommend listening to if you can’t afford a time machine.

It’s easy to compare the movie to the likes of Harmony Karine’s K.I.D.S. (the director briefly appears n the film) but there was only one movie Hill made the entire cast sit down to watch together: This Is England (which, interestingly enough, Gareth Evans told me had its fingerprints all over Apostle).

Hill explained why that particular film was required viewing, saying:

“This is England was a great influence because it was the only film I showed to the kids in the movie because I wanted to show them how raw child actors could be [and] how naturalistic young acting can be.”

This kind of research was especially key for Smith, a professional skateboarder who— aside from videos shot with a fisheye lens— had never appeared on screen until this film and whose only previous experience with Hill was watching his movies (he’s a Super Bad guy):

“I knew he was an actor that started off in comedy and started to get different roles, some more serious. He was just a good actor to me.

I guess I was kind of surprised by how cool he was. I never expected to meet the people I see in movies… seeing him and being like ‘Oh, shit. He’s cool.'”

This was also Suljic’s first time working with Hill and he told me he was most surprised by just how passionate the film’s creator is about its subject:

“Jonah knows a lot. He’s a skater at heart. [He] knows way more about skating than I do and I’ve been skating for super long.

One thing that surprised me the most was how passionate he was about skating. I didn’t really know he skated.”

He did add a bit of a caveat, saying “[Hill] usually says he’s ‘100% commitment, 14% skill.'”

However, Smith gave Hill some credit for that 14%:

He did a kickflip. He fucked up his ACL. But he did a kickflip and he was fucking hyped. We were all hyped.

Many of the most defining moments in Mid90s take place at the Los Angeles skate shop the characters call home base, where the teenagers trade jokes and participate in some impressively crude games of “Would You Rather?”

According to Smith, it’s a pretty on-point depiction of the places he grew up in:

I used to go into a store called 118 Hollywood.

I used to go in there and go to the skate shop and see people doing good tricks, teaching me stuff. That kind of energy never goes away.

You go to a random skate shop and it’s the same type of deal. They’ve got their kids that come by to hang out. You’ve got people who think they can really make it.

His co-star echoed the sentiment:

Everyone smokes and drinks in there. It never really changes.

With skating, everyone knows each other.

Hill might have nailed the aesthetic of skate culture during the era, but when I asked him to pick the one film that sums up the period, he didn’t hesitate when replying:

Pulp Fiction. It’s just the definitive movie of the mid-90s.

Mid90s premieres in select cities around the country today and will be released nationwide on October 26.

Jonah Hill Gets Real About His Weight And How Much It Hurt To Be Called ‘Fat And Gross’

Jonah Hill has been celebrated for his extraordinary weight loss in recent years (as seen HERE). While people have been supportive of Jonah’s incredible transformation, there was a time that the actor was called “fat and gross.” Jonah appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss how the body-shaming really took a toll on his self-confidence.

Hill kept it real about his fluctuating weight and how it negatively affected him when he was younger. “I came in goofy comedies…(as) this kind of curly haired, overweight kid,” he told DeGeneres. “Everyone had their own opinion on what I should be, how they could speak to me, how they could treat me. “

Hill is making his directorial debut with the movie Mid90s and there are parts of the film that are sculpted from his experiences of being an outcast. “I really believe everyone has a snapshot of themselves from a time when they were young that they’re ashamed of,” Jonah said of his adolescent struggles. “For me, it’s that 14-year-old overweight and unattractive kid who felt ugly to the world.”

“This 14-year-old kid, being overweight wanting to fit in with these skaters and hip hop kids… not understanding (his) own worth,” Hill said of the character in Mid90s that depicts the Los Angeles skating scene in the 1990s.

“To me this movie is about learning to love yourself and finding a community of people that accept you and how imperfect life is,” Hill said. “I’m under construction like we all are.”

Mid90s hits theaters on Friday, the same day that Hill’s new self-published magazine is released. Hill created a magazine titled “Inner Children” that exposes a cruel world of body-shaming and the effects it has on people especially young people who are not developed enough to combat this kind of abuse.

Hill shared an excerpt from the “Inner Children” magazine on his Instagram. “I became famous in my late teens and then spent most of my young adult life listening to people say that I was fat and gross and unattractive, It’s only in the last four years . . . that I’ve started to understand how much that hurt got into my head.”

“This magazine is dedicated to this guy,” Jonah said in another Instagram post with a photo of himself when he was 14-years-old.

The magazine will have contributions from Eddie Falco, Michael Cera, Behati Prinsloo, Kim Gordon, and his sister, Beanie Feldstein, who starred in Lady Bird on “how they learned to love themselves.”

Hill told Ellen that exposing offensive language, misogyny, homophobia, and toxic masculinity was done on purpose. “It’s been really interesting to hold a mirror up to a lot of the things we learned in generations past that we’re now dealing with and facing,” he said.

“It took a long time ― honestly, until right now ― for me to come out as the person, artist, mind, what I represent, how I feel, how I’d like to be spoken to, how I speak to the world,” Hill said, “in a way that actually represents who I am as a person as opposed to me trying to be something else that I’m not.”

Jonah also remarked that he is “deathly allergic” to cats, so allergic that he could die from them.

Never forget the time Jonah gloriously shutdown a reporter who asked him if he was still “considered the fat guy.”

Jonah Hill Hosts ‘SNL’ Becomes 6-Year-Old Benihana Enthusiast, Pug Wig Salesman, ‘America’s Got Talent’ Contestant’

SNL

Jonah Hill hosted Saturday Night Live for the fifth time last night and he played a variety of intriguing characters ranging from a 6-year-old Benihana enthusiast, a salesman for wigs made for pugs, an America’s Got Talent contestant, a high school student, and a loser attempting a pathetic marriage proposal.

Jonah’s monologue was centered around The Wolf of Wall Street actor being excited about joining the “Five-Timers Club,” of other celebrities who have hosted SNL at least five times. Jonah was expecting to see Tom Hanks, who has hosted the show nine times, but it turns out that the Five-Timers Club had to jokingly kick out all of the potentially creepy Hollywood actors including Steve Martin (He hosted 15 times), Justin Timberlake (He hosted five times), and Alec Balwin (He hosted the most of anyone, 17 times).

Instead, there is only Tina Fey, Drew Barrymore, and Candice Bergen. Bergen welcomes Jonah by saying, “Welcome to the club, Seth,” confusing him for Seth Rogen. Fey says, “The guys are not allowed in right now because it turns out they’re all a bunch of horny perverts.”

“We have to be really careful about which famous men we let in here,” Barrymore said in the skit. “Tom Hanks from ‘Toy Story’? ‘There’s a snake in my boot!’? I think we all know what that means.”

Hill reprised his role as Adam Grossman, a six-year-old who loves Benihana and often says inappropriate things for a youngster while dining on the hibachi with strangers, but he’s only six-years-old so you can’t get too mad at him.

Here are past Adam Grossman skits and looking back it shows how much weight Jonah lost.

Hill plays Damien Regulanté, the co-proprietor of Pug Wigs, a company that makes wigs for your pug so they’re less adorably ugly.

The Super Bad actor was then a musical contestant on America’s Got Talent. The skit titled “America’s Got Talent: Wait, They’re Good?” lampoons how the judges on singing competition shows who are repeatedly “shocked” when a singer who looks listless suddenly belts out an incredible melody that sounds like the chorus of 1,000 angels.

Jonah was also a loser who attempts to propose to his meteorologist girlfriend while she is giving the forecast on live TV. Unfortunately, he makes the big mistake of wearing a green shirt while proposing in front of a green screen.

Then there was the “Teacher Fell Down” sketch and it appears that you need recreational drugs to understand/appreciate this comedy.

Jonah Hill is not the same person he is at 35-years-old as he was when he was 24-years-old when Superbad was released back in 2007. That is great, that means he is maturing and progressing as a human being. But Jonah Hill wants you to know that he is no longer the “bro comedy guy” from the movies he has starred in previously.

Hill made a name for himself by starring in brash comedies such as Knocked Up and Superbad. Now, Hill is appearing in more dramatic actor roles and is a director, his first film being Mid90s, about a 13-year-old living in 1990s-era Los Angeles and spends his summer “navigating between his troubled home life and a group of new friends that he meets at a Motor Avenue skate shop.”

RELATED: Jonah Hill Reveals How He Lost A Boat Load Of Weight In A Short Period Of Time

While promoting Mid90s to an audience in Berlin, Jonah was asked about his role as Seth in Superbad. Hill said how his earlier movies featured “traditional masculinity” that was problematic and he wants to change the perception of masculinity and hopes that his fans come along on his journey.

From Variety:

As an actor who came to prominence in his early 20s, and who said he was long looked at as the “bro comedy guy,” the 35-year old described how maturity has given him a fresh perspective on some of his early roles. “I love those films, but I also think that if you look back at those films, a lot of what they’re showing is major bro comedy, and bro masculinity,” he said.

Hill added that he hoped he could “illuminate” young fans of his earlier work about some of the problematic behavior it depicted, saying: “It’s not like a responsibility. It’s where my heart is, and what I want to make. But at the same time I’m learning I’ve got to unlearn a lot of stuff, and maybe some of the people that liked Superbad will come with me on that journey.”

Sounds like Jonah has no idea what a Bro is. That’s why we support the Save the Bros campaign.

RELATED: Jonah Hill Gets Real About His Weight And How Much It Hurt To Be Called ‘Fat And Gross’

While Jonah stresses “problematic behavior” in his earlier work such as Superbad, it should be noted that Hill starred in the hour and 29-minute animated dick joke Sausage Party in 2016 (BTW, there is no shame in 90 minutes of dick jokes if done properly), which some have said is sexist and racist. In 2014, Hill apologized for using a “disgusting” homophobic slur in 22 Jump Street, a movie that has been said to feature “meta-homophobia.” 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street (which we have covered extensively) has been called a “misogynist blockbuster.” and “branded as sexist.”

Seth Rogen has also apologized for Superbad in the past. “There are probably some jokes in Superbad that are bordering on blatantly homophobic at times,” said Rogen, who wrote and starred in the movie produced by The Apatow Company. “They’re all in the voice of high school kids, who do speak like that, but I think we’d also be silly not to acknowledge that we also were, to some degree, glamorizing that type of language in a lot of ways.”

Who Is Jonah Hill Going To Play In ‘THE BATMAN’?

Yesterday, for the first time since Robert Pattinson was cast as Bruce Wayne, major casting news about The Batman was announced, as it was reported that Jeffrey Wright (Westworld)) was in talks to play Commissioner Gordon and that Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street) was in talks to portray one of the film’s main villains.

While Hill has yet to sign on for a specific role, given his general stature and appearance, the natural choice seems like it would be Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a Penguin. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Hill is also being considered for the role of Edward Nygma, a.k.a. Riddler.

A two-time Academy Award winner, Hill is a home run of a selection for either role, particularly if he ultimately signs on to play Edward Nygma, as it would certainly be an outside-the-box selection.

In addition to Penguin and Riddler, Batman rogues such as Catwoman and Firefly have also been rumored to be featured in the film.

The Batman — which will be directed by Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and is set to be released on June 25, 2021 — is reportedly based on the iconic The Long Halloween storyline and will include “multiple” Batman rogues, according to director and industry insider Kevin Smith.

Written by Jeph Loeb with artwork by Tim Sale, The Long Halloween — which was first released in 1996 — is filled with legendary Batman villains and is widely considered to be one of the greatest Batman stories ever told.

With production set to begin in either late 2019 or early 2020, it appears that Warner Bros. has finally found the correct path for their most valuable character.

Jonah Hill No Longer In Talks For ‘The Batman’, Studio Eyed Seth Rogen For Villainous Role

Just days after it was announced that Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) had been cast as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in 2021’s The Batman, news has now broken that Jonah Hill — who was reportedly in talks to join the cast back in September — has dropped out of negotiations.

Two-time Oscar nominee Jonah Hill is no longer in talks to play the villain in Warner Bros’ reboot of The Batman starring Robert Pattinson. Essentially, talks broke down, which happens on big pics like these. We originally broke the news that Hill was in talks to play a villain in the movie, either Riddler or Penguin. We understand Warners is eyeing new candidates already for one of those roles in the Matt Reeves-directed DC movie.

We heard that there was interest from the production in Seth Rogen for the role of the Penguin, however, but I hear no offers or talks occurred. [Deadline]

As for why Hill dropped out of discussions, it has been rumored that the two-time Academy Award winner was asking for a $10 million paycheck, which would have been twice as much as Pattinson’s acting fee, thus living up to his reputation as one of Hollywood’s biggest douchebags.

While I was on board for Hill portraying either Riddler or Penguin, Seth Rogen in either of these roles would be nothing short of a disaster, as he simply does not have the dramatic panache to get away with playing a convincing supervillain, especially one that has to go toe-to-toe with Batman.

The Batman — which also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon — will be released in theaters in the United States on Friday, June 25, 2021.

Jonah Hill Shares His ‘Favorite Memory’ With His Late Brother In The Kobe Bryant Tribute You Didn’t Know You Needed

We’ve read, seen, and heard amazing Kobe tributes from all corners of the sports world (Shaq, Bill Belichick, Jerry West, to name a few), but I certainly did not expect to be moved by a Jonah Hill tribute.

The 36-year-old actor was born in Los Angeles and grew up a huge Laker/Kobe fan, a fandom he shared with his late brother, Jordan.

On Thursday, Jonah shared an “awkward photo” with Mamba that was captured during his “favorite memory” with his brother, who died unexpectedly in December 2017 from a blood clot blocking an artery in his lungs at the age of 40.

This picture became a funny internet thing years back and it always made me laugh when I’d see memes of it . I used to love “on purpose, very awkward photos” whenever I was around someone I respected and this is about as comically awkward as it gets. Ah, your early 20s. It’s a dumb bit but I really liked it at the time. I hesitate to post this as it’s usually connected to humor. But for me this photo represents a LOT more. I’m sitting next to my brother and he’s taking this. It was the night we both met Kobe and he was so nice to us. So funny, so amazing and so kind (in the middle of a game!). My brother and I grew up worshiping the Lakers and because of my job we got to sit next to Kobe and the whole team! I have lived a privileged life. Truly. We were literally buzzing with excitement to meet our hero and it’s one of my favorite memories ever. It’s my favorite memory with my brother . I’m sitting between Kobe and my brother and now they’re both gone. I have been staring at this photo for days in disbelief and sadness and joy. It’s my favorite picture and I think it represents for me, all of the hard and amazing things in life and how fleeting they are. But their fleeting nature doesn’t make them any less beautiful. I’ve been thinking a lot about saying Rest In Peace and what that means. But I don’t think Kobe or my brother are resting. I think they’re hustling up there. Working hard and getting shit done. Cuz that’s what they do. All my love to the ones here left behind. Take care of each other and love each other . That’s the lesson I’ve learned . ❤

Damn.

Hill’s brother, Jordan, was the co-founder and CEO of Career Artist Management and managed Maroon 5, his childhood friend Adam Levine’s band. He also worked with artists Miguel, Robin Thicke, Big Boi and Chromeo.

Following his death, Jonah Hill announced that he was working on giving up all partying and taking on a healthier lifestyle.

“No I don’t drink. I just don’t drink. I just don’t party,” Jonah told Howard Stern. “I like to be healthier. I like to be in a good mood. Being hungover effects your mood — to me at least. I support people who are living their lives and being happy.”

Truth.

That’s the lesson I’ve learned.

Jonah Hill Says Nobody Saw The Best Acting He Will Ever Do Because Amazon Royally ‘F*cked Up’

Amazon royally botched Jonah Hill’s pièce de résistance. Finger-painted all over his Mona Lisa.

Hill has been nominated for two Oscars in his career for his brilliant roles in Moneyball and Wolf of Wall Street (the Academy snubbed his Superbad performance), but the 36-year-old is most proud of his performance in a movie you’ve likely never seen.

Hill was recently interviewed on GQ’s Instagram Live and revealed he considers his performance in Gus Van Sant’s Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot the finest work of his 16-year acting career.

“It’s the best acting I have done or will ever do, but no one saw it because Amazon completely fucked it up.”

The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and with stars like Joaquin Phoenix, Jack Black, and Rooney Mara, one would’ve expected it to gross far more than meager $1.4 million U.S. haul and a global total of just $4.2 million.

The dramatic biopic centers around alcoholic cartoonist John Callahan (Phoenix) who becomes a quadriplegic after a drunk driving accident, with Hill playing Callahan’s supportive sponsor at Alcoholics Anonymous.

Timing proved to be the demise of the film, as it premiered in January but wasn’t released in theaters until July, losing all momentum in the process. It didn’t help that Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot was pitted up against Bo Burnham’s coming-of-age dramedy Eighth Grade, which was dubbed a top-ten film of 2018 by both the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute.

Hill was validated in his outrage, as several film critics praised his work in the undeserved flop.

Via IndieWire:

Hill earned strong notices for his role as Donnie Greene, with IndieWire’s Eric Kohn calling the actor “virtually unrecognizable” in the role. Jeannette Catsoulis of The New York Times called Hill “revelatory” in the film, while Rolling Stone film critic Peter Travers raved, “A word here about Hill: His portrayal of the gay, bearded, caftan-wearing, trust-funded father figure is a marvel of nuanced acting. Could this be the comedy star’s third Oscar nomination, following ‘Moneyball’ and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ for showing his dramatic chops? The actor comes up aces.”

Don’t Worry boasts a 74% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and is now streaming on Amazon Prime.

The Internet Is Inspired, And A Little Stressed Out, By How Jonah Hill Carries His Coffee

Internet Inspired And Appalled By How Jonah Hill Carries His Coffee

Back in September of 2019, the internet became very involved in how Jonah Hill carried his coffee thanks to some very timely photography.

In fact, it got so out of control with all of the comments and memes that were spawned Jonah Hill himself decided to get involved in the conversation, commenting on the series of very relatable photos, “The internet has been very interested in this photo of me dropping my coffee. But we’re all forgetting the real tragedy here. We’re forgetting to mourn this coffee. I didn’t know it long but damn was our time together special. As fleeting as it was. I’ll never forget you.”

Fast forward to a few days ago and yet another photo of Hill carrying his coffee has once again got the internet talking, because, just like the rest of us, the Superbad actor has refused to learn his lesson.

“Inspiring that jonah hill still carries coffee like this, he hasn’t learned from the incident, thus he is an everyman,” wrote @deadlilbird on Twitter alongside a new photo of Hill still being as careless as ever with his java.

Not everyone was as inspired though. Many folks said the photo of Hill holding his coffee that way again just stressed them out.

Oh no, it’s becoming a trend.

Jonah Hill Says The Fashion Industry Ignores Overweight People

Jonah Hill has opinions and he would like you to hear them. Jonah Hill, who has a net worth of $50 million and a contract with adidas, wants you to know that the fashion industry ignores overweight people.

The 36-year-old Hollywood actor provided the world with his opinion of body image.

“I think the biggest shift in my personal style was that I always had an interest in personal style and fashion, but I was always a bigger guy,” Hill told GQ. “It’s really hard when you’re overweight to dress a certain way, because clothes aren’t made for people who are overweight to have style. So, I think it surprises people.”

Hill continued, “Even now, I’ll overhear someone discussing my place in the fashion world or whatever, and people are like, ‘That guy? The schlubby guy from ‘Superbad?'”

“The idea was realizing, whether I was big or small, that I really can define my own personal style,” the Wolf of Wall Street actor stated.

“I think I was conditioned for [criticism] based on my acting career. Because, (A) being overweight and (B) comedy, you’re not supposed to be into fashion on either of those sides,” Hill added. “When I was coming up in comedy, you would get made fun of if you cared about fashion, but I always did.”

The actor continued, “And then I’m just like: ‘Wait, how many times do I have to tell myself I can’t do something? I’ve done all these things that I was told that I couldn’t do. Just keep going, just go on the journey of being into the s*** you’re into.’”

Coincidentally, whenever I hear the word “fashion,” the only thing I think about is comedian Andrew Schulz’s “fashion” schtick.

Hill, who directed the skateboarder coming of age story Mid90s, will attempt to tackle a new movie about therapy.

“It is a documentary on my brilliant Therapist, Dr. Phil Stutz, and therapy in general,” Hill said, according to SlashFilm. “The idea is to make a film that frames therapy and Phil’s tools for dealing with life in a way that isn’t corny or cheesy. Everything I saw growing up about therapy I rolled my eyes at.”

Hill says the upcoming project is “a dope film that democratizes therapy for private use on Netflix.”

Jonah Hill Windmill 360 Dunks On ‘Daily Mail’ For Trying To Body-Shame Him

You know what movie I caught over the weekend that became an instant classic the moment it was released? 2013’s legendary This Is The End. What a time to be alive, where Hollywood’s elite comedy actors just decided “Screw it, let’s make a movie about ourselves.”

Playing “extreme” versions of their real-life selves, Jonah Hill’s characterization is by far the funniest, as he’s portrayed as this pompous, douchey elitist.

But while Jonah Hill may have been acting like a douchebag, everything about the guy seems to indicate that he’s actually quite the opposite, particularly this Instagram post from the weekend that saw the Academy Award-nominated actor dunk on the Daily Mail for trying to body-shame him.

“I don’t think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid 30s even in front of family and friends,” Hill wrote on Instagram.

“Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren’t exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers. So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this and it can’t phase me anymore is dope. I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself. This isn’t a ‘good for me’ post . And it’s definitely not a ‘feel bad for me post’. It’s for the kids who don’t take their shirt off at the pool. Have fun. You’re wonderful and awesome and perfect. All my love.

Oh and Daily Mail, not even you can take that smile from my face.”

While it’s been a couple of years since we’ve seen Jonah Hill, the 37-year-old is teasing that he is just weeks away from announcing the next film he’s going to direct (Hill made his directorial debut with 2018’s Mid90s). He’ll also star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and tons of other A-listers in Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up, which is set to hit Netflix later this year.

Jonah Hill Thinks American Classics Like ‘Apocalypse Now’ Couldn’t Get Made Today

Cancel culture fascinates me. On one hand, it’s become entirely too rampant and vindictive, thus creating a “boy who cried wolf” scenario, making it all the more difficult to cancel people who actually deserve it.

On the other hand, though, cancel culture has *always* existed. Look at the Salem Witch Trials. They thought a bunch of women were witches because they could read and they canceled their lives. Then, culture realized we should probably cancel those who carried out the atrocities. Speaking of public executions, that’s another thing that’s been canceled over time: we’ve from beheadings to hangings in the town square to lethal injections behind closed doors to a debate about whether we should do away with the death penalty entirely. Cancel culture moves society forward: it’s only lost its way because of its nurture — the hyperaware, hypersensitive age of social media –, not its nature.

This is all to say that, while not directly name-checked, what Jonah Hill is referencing when he says Apocalypse Now couldn’t get made today is cancel culture. And that objectively sucks as Apocalypse Now is one of the greatest American films ever made.

“…the point is you can’t even make Apocalypse Now or Fitzcarraldo now in this modern society. It’s not like you can live it like you did back in the day, and I don’t even think it’s fun to,” Hill told GQ in a recent feature interview.

Coincidentally, earlier this week, it was reported that Luca Guadagnino’s reboot of Scarface was prepping to begin production in California, so it’ll certainly be interesting to see the effect that our current societal climate has on such an iconic American film.

Jonah Hill Talks Therapy, Troubles Of Overnight Fame, Chris Farley’s Death: ‘I Cried For A F*cking Week’

Jonah Hill opened up about a myriad of topics in a wide-ranging interview with GQ. The Hollywood actor was interviewed by Adam McKay, who co-wrote Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and The Other Guys.

Hill revealed that these days he is living a “very quiet lifestyle” by hanging with his nephews and his dog. He is still writing and directing, but he makes time to surf every day, some days twice a day.

Hill admitted that he experienced “overnight” fame.

“One day life was one way, and then one day life was a different way. Right after Superbad, I took a writing job on Brüno [with Sacha Baron Cohen],” he said. “I was 23, and they asked me to host SNL for the first time. And I didn’t want to leave the writers room. I was like, ‘Guys, I don’t know what to do.’ It was my first job working for Sacha. And Sacha was like, ‘Dude, you should go host SNL.’ To me, having a writing job for Sacha Baron Cohen was as rad as hosting SNL.

After his breakout role in Superbad when he was 24-years-old, Hill notes that he had “probably too much power for a young person, and too much autonomy, and not enough life skills.”

Hill dropped out of college, which he says left him “behind personally” because he was “running toward success” and not “really looking inward.”

Hill started seeing therapist Phil Stutz in 2017, after Joaquin Phoenix recommended him. Hill said Stutz “invented a set of visualization techniques that greatly changed my life.”

Hill, who has his own film and TV venture called Strong Baby Productions, is making a Netflix documentary about Stutz.

He adds that transcendental meditation has also helped him in his life.

The Wolf of Wall Street actor said he was absolutely crushed when comedian Chris Farley died in 1997 at the age of 33.

“When I was a kid and I heard about John Belushi dying, it was romanticized, like, ‘Yeah, dude, he was punk rock and he died from heroin,’ and all this sh*t,” Hill told McKay. “And then when I was 13 or 14, I lost Chris Farley, and the sh*t wasn’t sexy or romanticized. It was just sad.”

“I cried for a f*cking week when Chris Farley died, and it wasn’t like I was like, ‘How punk is that, dude?’ It was like, ‘What the f*ck? This sucks,'” he recalled.

“He should have had joy. That breaks my heart,” Hill said of Farley. “So when you ask me what I do, I’m like, work sh*t comes easy to me. I love work. I love being creative. I want to be happy. I literally want to be happy. That is the mission of my life, that I work hard at.”

Hill divulged that his hero is a 92-year-old man named Geoff.

“Okay, I’ll be totally real. My neighbor here is 92. His name is Geoff,” Hill said. “And he’s the reason I moved to the beach, because I was talking to him one day on the deck—I would have lunch with him once a week on the deck. I said, “What’s the deal, man? You’re the happiest guy I’ve ever seen in my life. Why are you so f*cking happy?” And he’s like, ‘I don’t look around at what anybody else is doing. I just live my life, and I don’t look at what other people are doing.'”

Sadly, Geoff passed away two days before the interview took place.

“Literally, if you said, ‘Who’s your hero?’ I’d say Geoff, because this guy lived happy, not giving a f*ck about the stupid rat race, and then died at 92 at the beach.”

Hill explains that he “is not chasing sh*t” at this point in his life.

“What is great without chasing being young and on trend? That’s my energy,” He said. “I’m 37. Not that I’m old, but I’m not young. I’m not 25. And I don’t chase youth, and I don’t chase trends.”

Jonah Hill previously said that he makes time to go surfing every day, at times twice a day. But the Superbad actor has allegedly been the recipient of a campaign to mock his surfing abilities.

Hill claims to have seen a sticker that reads: “Jonah Hill Ruined Surfing.” The actor posted a photo of the sticker and retorted on an Instagram story, “I will never stop doing things that make me happy no matter how insecure my happiness makes you.”

Sarah Brady – Hill’s girlfriend and a self-proclaimed “surfer, photographer, and activist” – attempted to defend him from the criticism.

“Only kooks do this s***,” Brady said on Instagram.

She added that she is “proud” of Hill for taking up surfing as a hobby “for the pure joy it brings” him.

“If you feel the need to rain on someone else’s parade, ask yourself why and consider getting yourself a life,” she fired back at critics.

This is the second time this week that the 37-year-old Hill has addressed his detractors.

“I know you mean well but I kindly ask that you not comment on my body,” Hill wrote on Instagram last Wednesday. “Good or bad, I want to politely let you know it’s not helpful and doesn’t feel good. Much respect.”

In March, The Wolf of Wall Street actor lashed out at the Daily Mail for publishing photos of him shirtless while surfing. He claimed that his “childhood insecurities” were “exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers.”

In 2020, Hill asserted that the fashion industry ignores overweight people.

In 2018, Jonah Hill revealed how body-shaming really took a toll on his self-confidence during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Hill recently opened up about how he started seeing therapist Phil Stutz in 2017, after Joaquin Phoenix recommended him.

  • Martin Scorsese’s next film will be a biopic about The Grateful Dead.
  • Jonah Hill has been tapped to play late frontman Jerry Garcia.
  • Keep up with all of the latest movie, TV, and pop culture news HERE.

Two-time Academy Award Jonah Hill is re-teaming with legendary director Martin Scorsese for a biopic about iconic jam band The Grateful Dead. Hill, who received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his work in Scorsese’s 2013 hit The Wolf of Wall Street, is set to play late frontman Jerry Garcia, who passed away at the age of 53 in 1995 due to a heart attack.

While it’s unknown what will be covered in the film, the story of the group goes back to its formation in the Bay Area amid the rise of the psychedelic counterculture of the ’60s. They continued to record albums and tour, with Deadhead fans following them throughout the years all over the country for lengthy jam sessions. The good times came to an end when Garcia died in 1995, though surviving members have carried on in various incarnations. [via Deadline]

As soon as the news hit the internet, fans of both Hill and The Grateful Dead took to Twitter to react with memes and jokes galore:

Prior to filming this Grateful Dead biopic, Hill can next be seen in Adam McKay’s star-studded comedy Don’t Look Up, which hits theaters on December 10 and Netflix on December 24. As for Scorsese, his next film — the Leonardo DiCaprio, Jesse Plemons, and Robert De Niro-starring Killers of the Flower Moon — will hit theaters sometime in 2022. A release date has yet to be confirmed.

At this time, the Grateful Dead film — which is being produced by Apple — does not have a title nor a release date, but we’ll be sure to update you when all of that information is announced

We all have moments of self-doubt.

Sometimes these moments can overwhelm and consume us.

Those moments suck.

Call it constant imposter syndrome, call it setting excessively high goals for oneself.

All that self-doubt leads to a feeling of wayward loneliness or unworthiness. It causes people to turn inward and stew. It’s just a downward spiral of constant anxiety and depression from there. You know you should be looking yourself in the mirror and saying “man, I have a dope life” but instead you dwell on how you’re perceived by others.

You know the questions. The ones that rattle around upstairs in your thoughts like a brain maraca, drowning out your generally good demeanor, likeability, and a sense of overall confidence.

  • What am I doing with my life?
  • Does what I do matter?
  • Does anyone really care what I think, ever?
  • Do I ever have good ideas?
  • Do the people who say they have my back really have my back?
  • Does anyone really actually even like being around me? Or do I just annoy them as much as I annoy myself?
  • Is anyone really proud of me? Am I even really proud of myself?

It sucks being stuck in one’s own head, even if it’s just a fact of life. All these thoughts can be so defeating and paralyzing. Certainly happens to me all the time.

The goal is to power through all that bad mental juju without second-guessing yourself. Easier said than done, of course. Focusing on gratitude and talking it out opens a lot of cognitive hang-ups. Also, dishing out compliments to others. Learning to let that deal go down is just a part of our whole trip through another time, forgotten space.

In the words of the apostle Robert Hunter, as sung by the prophet Jerry Garcia:

Ain’t nobody messin with you but you.

Jonah Hill to play Jerry Garcia in Martin Scorsese Biopic

In case you haven’t heard, Jonah Hill is set to play late Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia in a new biopic, directed by Martin Scorsese. The news of the project put the zeitgeist in a frenzy. To a certain person (ugh, like myself?), Garcia is more than just a rock star. He’s a beloved iconoclast of American music; a transcendent cultural figure that took creative risks and played the game by his own playbook, to hell with what anyone else thought.

All with a gregarious laugh and radiant smile.

I’m paraphrasing the man himself here, but Garcia was truly a confectioner of his own flavor of licorice. Not everybody likes licorice, of course, but the people who like licorice really like his flavor of licorice.

What’s the story behind Jonah Hill playing Jerry Garcia?

Jonah Hill appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about the upcoming Jerry Garcia biopic, directed by Martin Scorsese. The project is reportedly in development for Apple, with Hill himself set to play the Grateful Dead frontman.

Hill tells Jimmy Fallon that the whole thing came together after he formed his production company. He saw a picture of Jerry Garcia on Instagram. Then he said to himself, “why isn’t there a Jerry Garcia biopic yet… starring me?”

The story is the ultimate motivator.

“This is a cool story that I’ll tell if anyone’s watching that needs to improve their voice of self-doubt in their heads, okay?”, Hill explains to Jimmy Fallon

“So, yeah. I do, I suffer from it. COVID started, I started my company, Strong Baby Productions. We had just started the company and I’m on Instagram. COVID just started, we’re all stuck in our houses, and I see this picture of Jerry Garcia when he’s young, and I’m like, ‘Wow, why has nobody done this? Why has nobody made a movie? I could play Jerry Garcia.’ And then I spent the next hour and a half… talking myself out of it. Being, like, ‘Don’t show anyone this. Don’t say this. You’re going to sound insane. You’re not good enough. You’re not this, you’re not that. And, you know, ‘He’s an icon, and that’s just a picture.’”

Hill then explains how he mustered up the courage to tell his manager, Rick Yorn, about the idea. Yorn has managed Hill since 2013, right before Wolf Of Wall Street came out, featuring Jonah Hill and Martin Scorsese.

Are you connecting the dots yet?!

Hill continues to Fallon:

“And I finally did the work in my head to go, ‘No, share it with the people you work with,’” he continued. “So I sent it to my company and to my manager, Rick, and they were like, ‘This is a great idea.’ And then Rick manages Martin Scorsese, and we worked together on Wolf of Wall Street, and he said, ‘You know who would love this is Martin Scorsese.’ And my partner Matt and I were like… ‘Yeah. For sure. That sounds great! I bet he’ll like it a lot!’ And we’re like, ‘What is happening?’”

“And then, Marty said, yes, he wanted to direct a movie about the Grateful Dead with me playing Jerry Garcia. … It goes for me, ‘I shouldn’t even send this because I’m not valuable enough to even express an idea to having your hero direct a movie about your [other] hero, you know? And so, it’s a beautiful story.’”

Watch the clip for yourself:

Hill tells Fallons that the script is currently being written by Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander – of People vs. Larry Flint and Ed Wood fame, whom he calls “my favorite writers.”

For Deadheads, there are so many based takeaways to unpack in Hill’s interview on The Tonight Show. And us Deadheads can be an insufferably fickle and catty bunch.

The most important one, for me at least, is hype. It’s nothing short of amazing that Garcia’s life and work will be immortalized by Martin Scorsese. The fact it all stems from Hill casually scrolling through randomness on Instagram one day?

That’s just a *chefs kiss* for all us digital dopamine addicts stuck in our own heads.

Plus, the excitement from Hill about the project is palpable. The story itself is flat-out inspiring for anyone stuck in their own head.

It’s a reminder to rule #1 in life:

Always double down on yourself.

Always.

Ain’t nobody messin with you but you.

Don’t forget it.

WATCH: Jimmy Fallon's Reaction To Jonah Hill's Climate Change Plea

NBC

  • Oscar nominiee Jonah Hill stopped by The Tonight Show to promote his new film Don’t Look Up.
  • At the end of his segment, Hill took the opportunity to share a message about climate change.
  • Host Jimmy Fallon reacted as though he just saw a ghost and is getting ripped for his bizarre reaction.

While The Tonight Show remains hugely popular amongst boomers and older generations, the culture — Gen X, Millenials, and Gen Z — have largely lost respect for Jimmy Fallon a long time ago, as the 47-year-old late-night host has now spent over half-a-decade proving that his version of The Tonight Show is nothing more than in exercise in lowest common denominator entertainment. From his cheesy games to his endlessly fake laughs, Fallon has made it clear that he’s more concerned with dollars than he is with intelligence. Which, honestly, is fine — totally fine. Get that bag, Jimmy.

What isn’t fine, however, was his reaction to Jonah Hill’s climate change message earlier this week, which saw the former Donald Trump hair-ruffler unleash more of a dramatic expression that he has during the entire seven-year run of his Tonight Show.

As Hill was saying goodbye to the audience at the end of his spot, he pulled out a letter from his pocket to share a message about climate change and detailed how the public can contact their local government officials to make a difference. Fallon, bizarrely, reacted as though he’d just seen a ghost.

Let this be a reminder that if you do choose to watch one of the late night shows, have it be Stephen Colbert or Jimmy Kimmel.

This Is The One Condition Jonah Hill Has For Making A 'Superbad' Sequel

Sony Pictures

  • Superbad will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2022.
  • In the years since, Jonah Hill has gone on to become a two-time Academy Award nominee for Best Supporting Actor.
  • Hill recently revealed the one condition he has for making a sequel to the beloved comedy.

It’s mentioned at the top of this article, but I just need to repeat it in an effort to wrap my head around it: Superbad, which was released in 2007, will turn 15 years this year. 15! That is, frankly, horrifying.

Quite a bit has changed since Superbad hit theaters, including the career trajectory of Jonah Hill, who has evolved from a largely comedic actor into a director and Academy Award-nominated actor, having scored Oscar noms for his supporting performances in Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street.

During a recent interview with W Magazine, the topic of Superbad was broached and Hill revealed an idea that he claims he never shared with anyone before: making a sequel to Superbad when its stars are in their 80s.

“I haven’t pitched this to anybody,” Hill said in an interview with W Magazine. “What I want to do is when we’re like 80, do a ‘Superbad 2.’ Like, ‘old-folks-home Superbad.’ Our spouses die, and we’re single again. That’s what I want ‘Superbad 2’ to be, and that’s the only way I would ever make it.”

What Hill is basically saying here is that he has no legitimate plans to make a Superbad sequel, which is unfortunate, as I could easily see a story about these characters approaching 40-years-old being just as entertaining as the original.

Hill, who has spent the last few years laying relatively low, can most recently be seen starring in Adam McKay’s Netflix film Don’t Look Up alongside Academy Award winners Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, and more. The 38-year-old is also set to star as late Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia in an upcoming biopic from legendary director Martin Scorsese.

Samuel L. Jackson On Jonah Hill Having Most Curse Words In Movies

Getty Image

  • In addition to being an excellent actor, Samuel L. Jackson has made a name for himself thanks to his ability to cuss.
  • Some of the iconic actor’s most famous lines include some variation of the F-word.
  • Despite this, he actually doesn’t hold the record for most swear words in the history of movies — Jonah Hill does.

While Samuel L. Jackson may be synonymous with the glorious delivery of curse words in movies, he somehow isn’t the record-holder for most swear words in movies history, as that title actually belongs to Jonah Hill, who is 35-years-younger than Jackson.

“Who won?” Jackson asked Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show when the record for most swear words was brought up. When Fallon told him that Jonah Hill had taken the crown, the 73-year-old acting legend had a predictably on-brand Samuel L. response:

“That’s some bullshit,” he said. “I mean that’s… I mean, I mean, no. No. No way, man. No way man, come on. Jonah Hill, really? And Leo? Jonah Hill, then Leo. I don’t believe that. Somebody miscounted.”

Despite the fact that Jackson has been acting for essentially the entirety of Hill’s life, the reason the two-time Oscar nominee holds the record over Samuel L. is thanks to his raunchy performance in The Wolf of Wall Street:

Hill, for the record, was equally amused by the study released in 2020, at the time thanking The Wolf of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese “for pushing me over the edge” with his filthy-mouth dialog in the 2013 film.

That “team of scientists” Hill referenced is actually research group Buzz Bingo, which produced an analysis called “Profanity On Film,” according to The Wrap’s report. The study found that Hill had used “bad language” 376 times in films, compared with the famously foul-mouthed Jackson’s record of 301. [via Huffington Post]

While Samuel L. may not be the most swearing actor in history, he does hold a far more important title, and that’s the highest-grossing actor in the history of movies, as his films have earned $27 billion worldwide. Not too shabby of a record to hold if I do say so myself.

Jonah Hill’s ‘Superbad’ Co-Stars Explain Why He Initially ‘Hated’ The Actor Who Played McLovin

Jonah Hill Initially 'Hated' Actor Who Played McLovin In 'Superbad'

Sony

Hollywood had a long history of pumping out films that attempt to capture the essence of the high school experience, and you can tell a lot about a person based on the movies they identify with the most.

For example, many students who came of age in the 1980s will likely relate to the cultural ecosystems John Hughes explored in The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, while those who endured the most awkward phase in life in the ’90s will probably cite Clueless and or 10 Things I Hate About You.

However, things get a bit murkier when you get to the turn of the millennium. There are undoubtedly some people out there whose high school years were defined by the wanton debauchery at the core of American Pie, but they’re in the minority compared to those who connect with Mean Girls or the one title that arguably defined that generation of students (and perfected the art of the high school movie as we know it): Superbad.

Superbad was a hit with critics and audiences alike when it hit theaters in 2007 thanks in no small part to the painfully relatable approach it harnessed; Jonah Hill’s Seth and Michael Cera’s Evan are both card-carrying members of the Uncool Crowd, a tier of the high school caste system that sits just above the one occupied by the former’s favorite punching bag: McLovin.

The wild ride McLovin endures in Superbad is fairly analogous to the journey Christopher Mintz-Plasse embarked on when he landed the part, as the actor was still in high school when he landed the first role of his career (and the one that will almost assuredly define it).

It’s safe to assume Mintz-Plasse drew from the awkwardness and anxiety that came with stepping onto a movie set for the first time while filming the movie—and based on what Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen had to say in a Superbad oral history that was recently published by Vanity Fair, he probably wasn’t the only person drawing from his true emotions.

It’s hard to imagine anyone else but Mintz-Plasse portraying McLovin, but Hill was apparently not a fan of the decision to cast him at first based on what went down during an audition where the actor showed off his improv skills at the expense of his more proven co-star:

HILL: Chris was really, really amazing off the bat. And I think he was really annoying to me at that time.

ROGEN: Jonah immediately hated him. He was like, “That was f—king with my rhythm. I couldn’t perform with that guy.”

APATOW: Jonah said, “I don’t like that guy. I don’t want him doing it.” And I said, “That’s exactly why we’re hiring him. It couldn’t be more perfect. The fact that it bothers you is exactly what we want.”

Thankfully, Hill was eventually able to put that ill will behind him and warm up to his foil—and the world is a better place because of it.

Jonah Hill And Eddie Murphy Star In Hilarious First Teaser For ‘You People’ (Which Also Stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus)

jonah hill and eddie murphy in the trailer for netflix movie you people

Netflix

Netflix has released the first teaser for their upcoming ensemble comedy You People, which features two-time Academy Award nominee Jonah Hill as a dude trying to convince his Black girlfriend’s father — played by the iconic Eddie Murphy — that he’s worthy of marrying his daughter.

The film was written by Hill and director Kenya Barris, who is also the creator of the ABC series black-ish and director of films such as Girls Trip, Shaft, The Witches, and Coming 2 America. While You People does not have an official release date, Netflix has announced that the film will debut on the streaming service in January of 2023.

In addition to Hill and Murphy, You People also stars the legendary Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren London, Sam Jay, Molly Gordon, Mike Epps, Nia Long, Deon Cole, Rhea Perlman, and David Duchovny. Given that this teaser didn’t even showcase half of the film’s talent, expect another trailer to be released before it drops in November.

You People marks yet another return to the spotlight for Jonah Hill, who hadn’t appeared in a film since 2019’s The Beach Bum prior to the release of Don’t Look Up late last year. In addition to those projects, Hill also recently directed the documentary Stutz, which is about his therapist Dr. Phil Stutz, and is also starring as Jerry Garcia in a Grateful Dead biopic directed by Martin Scorsese.

Back in November, it was also reported that Keanu Reeves had signed on to star in Hill’s Outcome, which will be his second feature film following 2018’s Mid90s. Furthermore, there are rumors that Hill has also signed on to play “the bad boy of golf” John Daly in an upcoming biopic, which is just an absolutely perfect casting choice.

You People trailer with Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy

The latest trailer for You People, a new film on Netflix, was just released and it features a cast chock full of A-Listers.

You People is a new comedy starring Jonah Hill, Lauren London, Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nia Long, David Duchovny, and others. Based on the trailer, the Netflix Comedy will poke fun at taboo stereotypes about interracial dating as Jonah Hill finds love with Lauren London.

The new Netflix from premieres on January 27th:

The film follows the story of Ezra, played by Jonah Hill, who desperately wants to be in a relationship. He accidentally gets into Amira’s car, played by Lauren London, after mistakenly confusing her for an Uber driver. The two hit it off but then have to introduce their parents before marriage.

There are definitely Meet the Fockers comparisons to be made here.

Jonah Hill Gets Real Emotional, Real Quick In His Interview On ‘The Tonight Show’

Jonah Hill’s career is on a massive upswing, except for that flop of a detour down ‘The Sitter‘ lane. From ‘The Wolf of Wall Street‘ to ‘Moneyball’ the young star still showing signs of that recognizable baby face we love and loathe is killing it. He dropped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to catch up, and ended up showing off some serious improv acting chops. Granted, the guy didn’t know what ‘pandering,’ means but like, it’s chill Jonah, it’s chill. The majority of their emotional impressions are on point, and now I have a firm grasp on discerning when someone’s being a condescending titprick during a conversation.

SNL: Jonah Hill Is ‘The Champ’ Who Wins A Big Wrestling Match That Makes An Entire Town Love Him

Saturday Night Live returned last night after a brief hiatus and Jonah Hill hosted the show for his fourth time. In the pre-recorded sketch, Hill shows off his acting chops. The Hollywood actor plays Nate, a high school wrestler who just pulled off an unbelievable win against a previously undefeated opponent from a rival school. Everyone in the entire town seemingly adores Nate until the local news airs. I recommend that you watch the skit instead of reading what happens so that you may enjoy it more.

You know those feel-good news stories of a football team letting an opponent who is maybe mentally or physically handicapped score a touchdown? Well, SNL flipped the script on those heartwarming stories.

Hill wins the big wrestling match, and is one of the cool kids. He even has a cute cheerleader fawning over him and inviting him to drink beers. Nate passes because he is worried about how the late night and alcohol could affect his next wrestling performance. Instead, he goes home to his proud parents and watches the local news. The top story is how the undefeated wrestler threw his match and let Nate win “as an act of charity” because he is a loser.

“Everyone feels very sorry for Nate because he sucks so hard,” the hot cheerleader says. “That’s why the whole community came together to pretend he won,” says another student.

The news interviews the high school janitor who reveals that Nate is such a loser that he can’t hold his peepee or his poopoo until he gets to the toilet and makes a mess of the lavatory. The janitor reveals that Nate has had a pumpkin in his locker the entire year, and that he calls it his girlfriend. There is even a small hole in the gourd for Nate to make love to his “girlfriend.”

Tigers forever!

Why Eric McCormack? I guess things have really gone downhill since Will & Grace.

Jonah is such an underrated comedic actor that he could easily pull off being a cast member of Saturday Night Live.

The ’23 Jump Street’–‘Men In Black’ Movie Crossover Might Actually Be Happening

The rumors surrounding the possibility of a ’23 Jump Street‘ v. ‘Men In Black’ crossover that surfaced after the savage hack of Sony in 2014, have been confirmed by a few industry publications. Tatum and Hill will return and pick up with their roles as Jenko and Schmidt, and a new director James Bobbin (directed ‘The Muppets,’ ‘Alice in Wonderland’ sequel) is slated to step in and take over the reins of the film as well. The crew behind ’23 Jump Street’ is set to begin production in June. We already know Hill is amped on the idea to merge the MIB vibe with Jump Street. An email leaked from Hill:

“Jump street merging with mib i think that’s clean and rad and powerful.”

Of course he’s stoked. There is one kind of major buzzkill though, and that’s that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be making any sort of guest star appearances in the crossover flick. Ah well. I’ve always enjoyed the ‘Jump Street’ movies because of their continuous comical absurdity within a ‘police enforcement’ kind of setting, and multiple digs on the new age party culture/trends. ’21 Jump Street’ and the film’s humorous take on the too cool to be cool hashish-addled hipsters being a prime example. All in all, very excited to see what they whip up for the newest installment to the ‘Jump Street’ series.

‘War Dogs’ Looks Like Jonah Hill’s Best Comedic Performance To Date — And That’s Saying Something

I never imagined, while Super Bad in the theater back in the day, that Jonah Hill would become one of the best actors of his generation. Comedic actor, possibly, but not one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood. The guy is money. He brings in every flick.

War Dogs looks like classic Hill.

Based on a true story, War Dogs follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Miles Teller) living in Miami Beach during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a 300 million dollar deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.

I’m using this line for the rest of the summer.

And this line for the rest of my life.

Is Jonah Hill’s Mom Trying To Hook Up On Tinder? Because It Sure Looks That Way

Celebrities, they’re just like us, right? Well, maybe not, but perhaps celebrity moms are because according to Redditor SavageSylvester Jonah Hill’s mom Sharon came up on Tinder as he was swiping away the other day.

Some of the facts here check out too. There is no doubt that is Jonah in the photo. Jonah’s mom’s name is in fact Sharon. Sharon’s face matches up with other pictures we have seen of her such as the one above. He does have two sisters with the same names. However, she says that she’s 47, which since Jonah is 32 would have made her 14 or 15 when he was born. Still, maybe she was fibbing a little bit just like many other people do who use the app.

So before we totally poo-poo this as some sort of catfish scam you might recall that Hilary Duff and other famous people have admitted to using Tinder in the past.

Plus, who would choose to pretend to be Jonah Hill’s mom for a catfish scheme? Seems like a pretty obscure choice, no?

So maybe, just maybe, there is a chance that SavageSylvester or anyone else in the same part of the country as Sharon could in fact end up being, as he put it, Jonah Hill’s “new dad.”

Here’s Jonah Hill Repping A Local Skate Shop In The Most Hilariously Awkward Spot Ever Filmed

As perfect as this clip is I really hope that Jonah Hill’s new spot for a ‘Palace x Reebok’ skating shoe collaboration doesn’t lead to a flood of celebrities filming awkward scenes in front of green screens, because you can only win the lottery once. Unless you’re my friend Kevin’s parents, they won the lottery jackpot twice, and they clearly signed some sort of jackpot with Lucifer.

At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about this video. I’m not typically into the ‘awkward for the sake of being awkward’ clips unless there’s a river of running jokes like in Arrested Development, which is something you can’t pull off in two minutes. But this worked, Jonah Hill nailed it for Reebok and the Palace skateboarding shop, and my best guess is they got him high as a kite before flipping on the cameras and doused his eyes in Visine. But he had me at ‘Hello skateboard friend‘ which is a phrase I’m sure I’ll be dropping in everyday conversation going forward, and one that almost nobody will have a clue what I’m referencing each time so I’ll just end up looking even more awkward than Jonah Hill…

Leonardo DiCaprio Pulls Prank And Scares Jonah Hill By Running At Him Like A Crazed Fan

$

I hate how fake Hollywood is. Everyone seems so fugazi. I assume that everyone pretends to like each other just so they can do movies together and make millions of dollars. BUT, our boy Leonardo DiCaprio is the goddamn real McCoy. In the 2013 Martin Scorsese flick Wolf of Wall Street, Leo played mega millionaire stockbroker Jordan Belfort, who was best friends with Donnie AzofF played by Jonah Hill. In the film, the duo did everything together including building a massively successful brokerage house, banging prostitutes together, going on family vacations together, and popping quaaludes together. But they’re just actors, right? No way they’re friends in real life? Wrong.

DiCaprio sees his friend standing on the sidewalk in the West Village of New York City on Monday and darts over towards Jonah. Busts out his cell phone and pretends to be a crazed fan snapping some pics of the celebrity. DiCaprio accomplishes all of this while he holds a red drink and doesn’t spill a single drop. Jonah is startled by the maniac right in front of his face, but then his shock turns to a smile when he realizes it is Leo. The surprise encounter ends in a laughing embrace.

Here’s a longer version of the video.

The two actors both appeared in Django Unchained together but didn’t share any scenes.

Last March, there was a report by Deadline that said DiCaprio and Hill would star in a movie directed by Clint Eastwood about Richard Jewell, the security guard who discovered a suspicious backpack in the Olympics compound during the 1996 games in Atlanta.

From Deadline:

Jewell, who’ll be played by two-time Oscar nominee Jonah Hill, was vilified as a possible terrorist, and his good work in helping clear bystanders from the area before the bomb exploded turned into a trip to the Twilight Zone. Leonardo DiCaprio is a possible to play the Southern lawyer who helped Jewell navigate that hell.

The film is based on Marie Brenner’s 1997 Vanity Fair article The Ballad Of Richard Jewell. The lawyer that DiCaprio might play knew Jewell casually and mostly did real estate closings. He seemed over his head, but guided Jewell through the demoralizing nightmare that signaled the downside of the advent of the 24-hour news cycle. The FBI finally cleared Jewell three months later. The film will be produced by Appian Way’s DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Hill and Kevin Misher, the latter of whom brought in the article. Misher Films’ Andy Berman also will have a producing role. Mike Ireland is overseeing for Fox. It came together when Hill and DiCaprio were eager to set up another project together after they had such a good time making The Wolf of Wall Street, for which both got Oscar nominations.

But there has not been any news regarding the project since.

It definitely looks fun to be Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jonah Hill Revisits His ‘Superbad’ Days And Draws An Old Man’s Dick With Jimmy Fallon In Hilarious Segment

These late night skits run the risk of being contrived and a bit hokey. But this, this right here, this is my shit. Drawing old man dicks and making old man dick jokes is top tier entertainment. I must say that I’m a little disappointed in Jonah’s dick drawing progress since his high school days.

Those dicks are so real I can almost taste them.

I mean. Nevermind bye.

Completely trivial sidenote: Leo DiCaprio must have gone to this art studio to scare the shit out of Jonah Hill yesterday, because he’s wearing the exact same outfit.

Leo also has some experience with drawing nude portraits. I’m pretty sure him drawing Kate Winslett in the Titanic was the first thing I whacked off to that wasn’t the bra and panty section of my mom’s Macy’s catalog.

Jonah Hill Snorted So Much Fake Cocaine On ‘Wolf Of Wall Street’ That He Had To Go To The Hospital

Thanks to Jonah Hill, TIL sniffing fake cocaine can put you in the hospital.

The 32-year-old who played stockbroker Donnie Azoff in Wolf of Wall Street appeared on Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons, where he detailed his traumatic experience:

“I did so much fake cocaine in Wolf of Wall Street that I got bronchitis for three weeks and had to be hospitalized,” he revealed to Bill Simmons on Any Given Wednesday. “It’s vitamin powder … if you ingest any matter, that much matter into your lungs, you will get very sick. And we were just literally doing fake coke for like seven months, every day.”

“I never had more vitamin D in my entire life,” he said with a laugh. “I could have lifted a car over my fuckin’ head!”

Sure there were a lot of parts of the movie where cocaine was involved, but it was mostly Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Jordan Belfort, who was doing all of the blow.

Jonah Hill Shared The Secret Behind His Weight Loss And It Was A Snarky Channing Tatum Comment

Jonah Hill 40 year old virgin
Jonah Hill 40 year old virgin

Jonah Hill has gone from that weird kid in The 40-Year-Old Virgin trying to buy women’s thigh-high boots with goldfish inside of them to one of Hollywood’s favorite actors. The 21 Jump Street franchise boosted his career into the next stratosphere.

Jonah Hill was pleasantly plump for the 21 Jump Street films but not downright obese. You could say that he would’ve been shopping in the ‘husky’ section but not at the Big & Tall store. However, in War Dogs Jonah was so large that I was genuinely worried for his health while watching that film on a flight back from Iceland a few months ago.

According to UNILAD, Jonah Hill had to gain 40 pounds for his role in War Dogs. The body can only handle so many massive weight fluctuations before it starts looking like a deflated football, and Jonah Hill has endured more than his fair share of ups and downs throughout his career.

If you’ve seen recent photographs of Jonah Hill you might have been shocked to see that he’s looking trim, healthy, and kind of like a Russian bookie:

Recently, Jonah Hill spoke with Jimmy Fallon (and Vulture/Hollywood Star) and the topic of his weight loss/fluctuations came up and it turns out that Jonah can thank a single snarky comment from 21 Jump Street co-star Channing Tatum for his remarkable weight loss:

I gained weight for this movie War Dogs, and then I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum, and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?
And he said, ‘Yes, you dumb motherfucker, of course you will, it’s the simplest thing in the entire world. (via Mirror UK)

Being healthier came along with maturity, and it’s hard, because a lot of times people want you to be the guy you were when they met you.
And I love doing funny movies, but I want to mature, literally, in how I treat myself. I’m not living in a frat house with a bong plastered to the table.
But all this stuff [points to his body] is just part of maturing in body and in mind. I just want to be a good man and to make my family proud. And, you know, I want to live a long time. (via Vulture)

It’s not rocket science. Eat healthier. Work out hard. And you will lose weight/get in shape. It’s almost unfathomable that Jonah Hill needed Channing Tatum to tell him this. Channing is busy this weekend opening a ‘Magic Mike’ male dancer style strip club in Las Vegas. He’s one of the most genetically fortunate bros on the planet, staying shredded 24/7/365. If I’m asking someone for weight loss advice it’s probably going to be a trainer or someone who grapples with over-eating and/or weight gain if they don’t keep it in check. Not the dude that looks like a Greek statue.

Anyways, great for Jonah Hill on getting thin again. Hopefully, this time around he learned to stop putting his body through torture for roles.

Jonah Hill Slimmed Down And Now Looks Shredded AF After Sound Advice From Channing Tatum

Ok, at this point, I think it’s fair to say that Jonah Hill was born with two other triple brothers–Joe and Jon–and depending on the movie role, one of the three makes public appearances. Superbad–Jonah. 21 Jump Street–Joe. War Dogs–Jon. Bingo bango bongo. There simply is no other logical way to explain how quickly this dude loses and re-gains weight. I’m trying to lose 5 pounds before August to fit into groomsman pants I already purchased and after 2 days of running, I’ve only lost .29 pounds. HOW MUCH DEDICATION IS NEEDED!?
[protected-iframe id=”cb032bbdf91fa4720f76613d834c4e00-97886205-61771510″ info=”https://static.apester.com/js/sdk/v2.0/apester-javascript-sdk.min.js” height=”524″ class=”apester-media”]

Anyway, Jonah is as toned as ever. At 33, his metabolism is more responsive than a mother texting. Good for that guy. Lucky bastard.

Jonah had gained 40 pounds for his role in War Dogs, which was released in August 2016, but wanted to slim down post-production. And who better to get workout advice from than Hill’s friend and 21 Jump Street co-star, Channing Tatum.

“I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'” Hill said during an interview on The Tonight Show. “Yes, you dumb motherfucker, of course you will. It’s the simplest thing in the entire world.”

Watch out, Leo. Skinny Jonah is a force to be reckoned with.

Jonah Hill Reveals How He Lost A Boat Load Of Weight In A Short Period Of Time

Yesterday, Jonah Hill made a splash on the world wide web that didn’t flood the pool. That’s because the 33-year-old is barely recognizable from the portly guy we saw in Superbad, and most recently, War Dogs–a role he packed on 40 pounds for for its August 2016 release.

Jonah now looks like the Stefan Urkel to his former Steve Urkel.

Jonah half-jokingly said that his 21 Jump Street co-star Channing Tatum gave his some scientific, super secret advice on how to shed lbs.

“I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?’” Hill said during an interview on The Tonight Show. “Yes, you dumb motherfucker, of course you will. It’s the simplest thing in the entire world.”

On a more serious note, Hill told ABC News:

“It was just mostly diet.

I wish there was some crazy thing that I did, like a pill or a genie or something, but I went to see a nutritionist, and he told me what to eat and to change my habits and stuff.

I found that Japanese food was very helpful to me.”

Jonah has also revealed the key to his weight loss was giving up beer, a lifestyle change that he was originally adamantly against.

[protected-iframe id=”d5c73c66c55f527b7a2cf87404e5193f-97886205-37946113″ info=”https://giphy.com/embed/hCufXAwPZpWH6″ width=”480″ height=”480″ frameborder=”0″]

He told a radio station:

“I went to a nutritionist and I said, ‘I’ll lost weight, I’ll eat healthier and whatever, but figure out how I can drink beer’.

“It’s so annoying because when I don’t drink beer, I get really really thin. Then when I drink beer, I get a little bigger.”

You’re a better man than I, Jonah.

Jonah also said that an essential contributor to his weight loss was holding himself accountable with a food diary–meticulously noting everything he ate during a given day to keep himself in check. He revealed how he accidentally sent his food diary to Drake instead of his nutritionist.

“I looked back about an hour later at my sent messages because he didn’t email back, and it must have been DR, because he;s doctor whatever, and I sent it to Drake.”

“He did not write back. Another guy I have to duck for the rest of my life. On the long list of people I’ll never speak to.”

It’s no secret that fat is funny (“no one wants to see Lance Armstrong do comedy”), so its going to be interesting to see if Jonah is as hilarious in his next film when he looks like Chad who hogs the free weights.

Back in June, photos came out that displayed a dramatic weight loss by Jonah Hill. Jonah shared how he made the impressive transformation shortly after. Jonah has battled with his weight all throughout his life. The last time he lost a good deal of weight he was asked a rather rude question and Jonah wasn’t having it.

An interview with the 33-year-old Hollywood actor from 2014, when Jonah lost a lot of weight, has gone viral in the past few days. The reporter asked Jonah Hill a rather rude and dumb question. Hill was asked if he still considers himself “the fat guy” at parties and in Hollywood. Hill is at first flabbergasted and then responds wonderfully. Hill shuts down the question by responding, “Do you have any other questions… that are smart?”

Next.

This isn’t the first time Jonah has replied fantastically to a stupid remark from the press. Back in 2016, Hill was on a French TV show promoting the movie “War Dogs.” A female reporter admitted that she had a sexual fantasy about Jonah. “My sexual fantasy would be that we would meet up in a hotel room at night. We would chat, you’d make me laugh, you’d make me laugh A LOT, and then all of a sudden you’d bring your friends Leo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt… and then you would leave.” Hill clapped back by saying, “I’m glad I came on here to be mocked by a local weather girl.”

Jonah Hill, as we recently pointed out, has once again lost a ton of weight again (here’s how he did it). So saying that he looks a little different now would be the truth.

However, his appearance has been altered even more drastically than just losing weight as he’s now rocking some funky braids and a bunch of tattoos as he works on his new Netflix show Maniac.

The plot of the show, according to Bleeding Cool, might just explain this new look…

Maniac is based on a 2014 Norwegian series that focuses on a man who lives-out his fantasy life in his mind while his reality is spent locked-up in a mental institution. Hill and [Emma] Stone will both play patients in the institution, while [Justin] Theroux will play James Mantleray. Though no further details on the character were given, he’s believed to be a mad-scientist-type doctor who might have an alcohol problem.

Here’s a trailer from the original series…

And here’s what Jonah Hill looks like now…

Wow, right?

Of course, this being the internet, people decided to turn Hill into a meme with a very common theme…

Over the weekend, Jonah Hill made a surprise cameo along with Seth Rogen during James Franco’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live. Many viewers of the show who hadn’t seen Hill in awhile were rightfully surprised at how trim and fit Hill was looking once again.

This isn’t a very new development, Hill admitted in May of 2017 that his impetus to lose weight again was a snarky comment by his buddy Channing Tatum. Heck, the last time we saw him he was thin, had braids and tattoos and was the subject of a comical meme. However, Hill’s weight has yo-yo’d a bit over the years so folks being surprised was certainly understandable.

Glad you asked, random person on the internet!

As I mentioned, Hill was motivated to get in better shape thanks to his buddy Channing, so here’s what he did.

“It was just mostly diet,” Hill told ABC News. “I wish there was some crazy thing that I did, like a pill or a genie or something, but I went to see a nutritionist, and he told me what to eat and to change my habits and stuff.”

The real kicker to his rapid weight loss was, gasp, not drinking beer.

“I went to a nutritionist and I said, ‘I’ll lost weight, I’ll eat healthier and whatever, but figure out how I can drink beer,'” explained Hill. “It’s so annoying because when I don’t drink beer, I get really really thin. Then when I drink beer, I get a little bigger.”

Don’t we all, Jonah. Don’t we all.

Hill also revealed that he uses a food diary to hold himself accountable, after putting on 40 pounds for his role in the 2016 film War Dogs.

Another thing that Hill has apparently been doing to stay in shape is working out at a boxing gym. Boxing, as anyone who has tried it will tell you, is an excellent whole body workout. Plus, you don’t need anything fancy to do it. Just some gloves, a bag, and the commitment to keep doing it.

Check out some recent pics of Hill putting in that work at a boxing gym in Manhattan and let him be your fitspo for the day.

Jordan Feldstein, the long-time manager of Maroon 5 and brother of actor Jonah Hill, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday. Feldstein was only 40-years-old. Maroon 5’s spokeswoman Carleen Donovan confirmed Feldstein’s death on Saturday.

The Feldstein family released a statement which said Jordan called 911 after experiencing a shortness of breath. Feldstein had gone into cardiac arrest by the time paramedics arrived and he died a shortly thereafter. Feldstein’s cause of death was not disclosed and the Los Angeles Coroner’s office are investigating Jordan’s death as a possible accident.

“His family asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” the statement said. “In lieu of food and flowers, the family will announce a charity in the coming weeks where memorial donations can be made in Jordan’s name.”

Feldstein was married twice, including being briefly married to Clint Eastwood’s daughter Francesca in November of 2013, but the marriage was annulled a week after the wedding. Feldstein is survived by Jonah Hill, his sister Beanie Feldstein, his parents, and two children from his first marriage.

Feldstein was the founder and chief executive of Career Artist Management (CAM), a prominent management firm in Beverly Hills, California. He had managed Maroon 5 since the band first started 15 years ago. His company also manages other music talent such as Robin Thicke, Miguel, The B-52s, Elle King, and Rick Springfield. Feldstein was mourned on social media by his celebrity friends in the music world. Those who were shocked and devastated by his death include Iggy Izzalea, Tonight Show bandleader and Roots member Questlove, Sheryl Crow, and rapper Big Boi.

Jonah Hill Blond New Movie Amazon
Jonah Hill Blond New Movie Amazon

Jonah Hill is at it again. This time he looks almost unrecognizable with long blond hair and a beard for his upcoming movie for Amazon Studios called Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot.

The last time we saw Hill he was putting in some work at a boxing gym trying to keep things tight after dropping a bunch of weight.

Prior to that, Hill also looked damn near unrecognizable rocking some funky braids and a bunch of tattoos for the Netflix show Maniac with everyone on the internet comparing him to Post Malone.

Apparently, when Hill works for one of the streaming services, Amazon, Netflix, he is required to completely alter his appearance. Or at least it seems that way, because…

The females of the species definitely seem to be big fans of Hill’s new look in the movie.

Sorry to break the news to you, ladies, but apparently, at least for now, he’s taken…

In addition to Hill, Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot, which is based upon the memoir of the same name by John Callahan, also stars Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara and Jack Black. Gus Van Sant wrote the screen adaptation and directed the film.

Here’s the synopsis: On the rocky path to sobriety after a life-changing accident, John Callahan discovers the healing power of art, willing his injured hands into drawing hilarious, often controversial cartoons, which bring him a new lease on life.

Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot is scheduled to be released by Amazon Studios on May 11, 2018.

Jonah Hill Joined Instagram Fit Now
Jonah Hill Joined Instagram Fit Now

Jonah Hill finally broke down and joined the rest of us in the 21st century by creating an official Instagram account. Which, by the looks of things on Hill’s end, probably turned out to be a solid move since all people wanted to talk about is how amazingly fit he is now.

The last few times we checked in on Jonah Hill, two of those times he was damn near unrecognizable. One time he was dressed and made-up in character for the upcoming film for Amazon called Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far On Foot. While the other time, Hill was rocking some braids, tattoos and looking like Post Malone for his new Amazon TV show Maniac.

The other time we saw him recently, Hill was putting in work at a boxing gym as a part of his new workout regimen which was spurred on by a snarky comment from his BFF Channing Tatum.

And yet, despite Hill, now 34, having been staying active and in pretty darn good shape for the better part of a year now, people were still stunned to see the remarkable physical change Jonah Hill has undergone.

Here was his first Instagram post…

He isn’t dicking around either having already posted nine times in just four days. Perhaps it has something to do with the tremendously positive feedback he received from the jump. Especially with Instagram comments like “So hot,” “wow … gorgeous x” and “Looking awesome man.”

Good on him, I say. Keep it up!

Kanye West Says That Jonah Hill Is The Reason That He’s No Longer Antisemitic

$

Perhaps no celebrity has had as wild a ride in recent years as Kanye West.

West, who is now going solely by the name ‘Ye’, has had more ups and downs than a theme park. Though they’ve mostly been downs.

On one hand, West got remarried to one of the designers who worked for him on the Yeezy brand. On the other, he lost his multi-million dollar deal with Adidas over his repeated antisemitic comments and acts.

But now he’s on the road to redemption! At least, so sayeth the man himself.

West posted on his Instagram page on Saturday that he no longer dislikes Jews. The reason? Well, you see, he watched Jonah Hill’s performance in 21 Jump Street. Hill, whose full name is Jonah Hill Feldstein, is Jewish.

“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again. No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people. No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you,” Kanye West’s Instagram post about no longer disliking Jews.

West’s Instagram followers were not exactly sold on his transformation.

“Jonah Hill gonna be like, “bro, don’t drag me into this,” one follower said.

You’re comparing 1 Jew to millions?! Stop calling yourself a Christian you’re the biggest antisemite there is! #gofindgod @kanyewest Jonah Hill is not Moses,” said another.

Don’t get me wrong. 21 Jump Street is a fantastic movie that has aged much better than you’d expect. But consider me skeptical in regards to it being the reasons that West is a changed man.

If it is, then Hill and company should probably get some sort of honorary Oscar or something next year. Then again, West would probably just interrupt that acceptance speech anyway.

Keanu Reeves’ First Role Following ‘John Wick 4’ Has Been Revealed

After adding his name to the list of all-time great action movie heroes with the John Wick franchise, Keanu Reeves is beginning to map up the future of his career.

According to reports, Reeves is set to start alongside Jonah Hill in the AppleTV+ film Outcome, which he’ll also be directing. The Hollywood Reporter says that Reeves will be portraying a character name Reef, who is a “damaged Hollywood star that must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past.”

While it was already confirmed last fall that Reeves would be starring in Hill’s next film, the nature of his role and where the project will land were just announced.

Outcome will certainly represent the biggest directing job of Hill’s career thus far, as he previous helmed the indie drama Mid90s and the documentary Stutz.

The deal finds a home for Outcome, which hit the town as a hot package back in November. The project was picked up in a competitive situation but the length of time closing a deal shows how tight the current market is for high-priced packages, even ones with high-list talent. Filmmakers, stars and their agencies are finding out that buyers are being more choosy, and more stringent, when it comes to buying.

In addition to Outcome, the other movie currently on Reeves’ schedule is the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, which stars Ana de Armas and will hit theaters on June 7, 2024. He was recently attached to the Hulu miniseries Devil in the White City, although he recently walked away from the role.

Despite now being 58 years old, Reeves is arguably more famous now than he’s ever been thanks to the massive success of the John Wick franchise, which first began back in 2014 and has gotten progressively bigger — both in terms of scope, budget, and box office returns — with each passing film.

Actress Accuses Jonah Hill Of ‘Shoving His Tongue Down Her Throat’ When She Was 16

Alexa Nikolas, an actress best known for her work on the Nickelodeon series Zoey 101, has accused Jonah Hill of allegedly forcibly kissing her when she was 16 years old.

In a series of tweets, Nikolas accused Hill of allegedly slamming her against “the door and shoved his tongue down my throat.” Nikolas also says the alleged incident occurred at a party held at the home owned by actor Justin Long.

The accusations against Hill come just days after his ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady published alleged text messages that Hill had sent her that put the actor in the thick of controversy. Nikolas says that what Brady shared about Hill inspired her to do the same with her own experiences.

“After reading Sarah Brady’s admirable post about Jonah Hill I just gotta say when I was 16 I got invited to a house party at Justin Long’s house,” Nikolas wrote on social media.

She claims that Hill “slammed me to the door and shoved his tongue down my throat. I was so appalled I pushed him off of me and ran inside.”

“I’ve been traumatized by men in Hollywood. It’s truly sad the traumatic events I have lodged in my body and mind. Things have to change,” she says.

Nikolas also accuses Hill of allegedly sleeping [with] a teenage friend of hers at the time. Nikolas has not said when the alleged incident allegedly occurred, so there’s no indication of how old Hill would have been at the time.

A statement from Hill’s lawyer said that Nikolas’ claims are “a complete fabrication” and that “it never happened.”

Most recently, Hill appeared in the comedy film You People, which hit Netflix in January of 2023. Prior to that, Hill directed the 2022 documentary Stutz (which was about his relationship with his therapist) and appeared in Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up back in 2021.

Channing Tatum is open to returning to the franchise that helped change the perception of him as an actor: Jump Street.

Prior to starring in 21 Jump Street, Channing Tatum wasn’t taken all that seriously as an actor and was largely renowned for his looks and dancing abilities.

After 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street, however, Tatum proved that he also has incredible comedic talent, which some actors claim is actually more difficult than dramatic work.

And since then, Tatum has grown into a well-rounded movie star who’s able to appear in drama, action, and comedy movies, such as Magic Mike, Side Effects, White House Down, Foxcatcher, The Hateful Eight, Hail, Caesar!, Logan Lucky, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Dog, The Lost City, and more.

While giving an interview to promote his new film Fly Me to the Moon, Tatum says that he’d love to make 23 Jump Street as it has one of the “best scripts that he’s ever read” for a third movie in a series.

“There is a project that was written and it’s still the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie,” Tatum said in an interview with ComicBook. “It’s really hard to get it made and we’ve been trying to get it done.”

“You know what, I’m going to put some good juju out there and I’m going to say I would love to see 23 Jump Street. I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah I know wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again.”

During the height of the “cinematic universe” boom a few years back, there were reports that Sony was developing a Jump Street and Men in Black crossover, but those plans never came to fruition.

In addition to Fly Me to the Moon, Tatum will also be starring in the thriller Blink Twice this summer, which marks the directorial debut of his girlfriend Zoe Kravitz. He’s also attached to the films Bloodlines, Wingmen, Roofman, Calamity Hustle, and Soundtrack of Silence, although none have officially begun production.
